The Norwegian Training Center - Manila of the Norwegian Maritime Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (NMFPI) was founded in May 1990 for the purpose of ensuring competent training and to promote quality shipping.

We offer varied courses from Ship and Cargo Handling; Management, Technical; Safety Courses; Welding; and Culinary Courses.

Our faculty of Norwegian and Filipino mariners is trained to teach with confidence, aided by modern teaching aids and methods.

The Norwegian maritime Foundation of the Philippines Inc. (NMFPI) is inviting highly motivated technical persons to fill up the position for Head of Welding Section, Technical and Bridge Simulator Instructors of our Norwegian Training Center – Manila (NTC-M).

 

WE ARE IN NEED OF:

Position/Title:

HEAD OF WELDING SECTION

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and conduct of training courses, testing and welder certification to DNV standards, organization and set-up of training / testing workshop / facilities installation and maintenance, and overall supervision of the delivery of services of the welding section to the maritime clients of the center.

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Design and development of welding courses on the common welding processes.

2. Design / set-up / fabrication and installation of training and testing workshop and facilities.

3. Conduct and delivery of welding instruction at all levels for most common welding processes.

4. Welding inspection and testing standards for welding qualification.

5. Monitoring and assessment of participants training progress.

Position/Title:

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR

The successful applicant will be responsible in the conduct of training courses for FRAMO submerged pump system using the full-scale ship-like laboratory setup

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Certificated Chief Engineer with at least one year experience as ships Chief Engineer in international trade.

2. With experience on board FRAMO equipped vessels

3. Preferably with teaching experience

4. Completed IMO model 6.09 and 3.12 courses

Position/Title:

BRIDGE SIMULATOR INSTRUCTOR

The successful applicant will be responsible in the conduct of various bridge related simulator courses.

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Certificated Master Mariner with at least one year experience as ships Master in international trade.

2. Preferably with teaching experience using bridge simulators

3. Completed IMO model 6.09 and 3.12 courses

Position/Title:

Chief Cook as Instructor

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Preferably experienced Chief Cook or Chief Steward on board ocean going vessels for at least 5 years;

2. Preferably with teaching experience as Cook from a reputable organization;

3. Graduate of Hotel and Restaurant Chief Cook School with International recognized certificate or Graduate of Hotel and Restaurant Management is a plus;

4. Knows basic tabletop computer operation.

One (1) Chief Engineer

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Preferably non-seagoing.

2. To be trained to handle the Mgmt. Level courses.

One (1) Master or Chief Officer

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Preferably with experience in Chemical and Oil Tankers.

2. Both seagoing and non-seagoing applicants are welcome.
