SHIP AND CARGO HANDLING
COURSE
The mutual aim of our training center is to establish a simulator
for shipping and offshore industry in partnership with SMS
AS which recognized as the best provider of high quality
training in
Asia
when it comes to bridge, dynamic positioning and crane.
Our aim is to generate a joint presence which is recognized as ‘the quality training center in the region’, both for the
offshore and shipping industry. NTC-M and SMS have negotiated in
order to introduce new products and to improve the quality of
simulator-based training offered in the
Philippines
and the neighboring areas. The present simulator has a technical
upgrade, introducing the SMS ship models and sailing areas.
Dynamic
Positioning Courses do run the Basic and Advance course in according
to the DP Certificate. Our DP has the same set-up as designed to the
SMS/Kongsberg set up in Trodheim
Norway
and includes all functionality and visual. The DP simulator set up
also integrates various Position Reference System. These DP
Simulators are the most advance in
Asia
.
Both
NTC-M and SMS agree that quality
is the key-word with regards to the training courses that will be
offered on NTC-M’s premises. Therefore, NTC-M and SMS have started
a process in which all NTC-M courses, which includes the use of
bridge simulator, will be given a thorough quality control. In
addition to the technical upgrade, the quality control includes
course contents and course material. An intensive instructor
training program is carried out accordingly.
With
our new training courses:
Dynamic Positioning.
Basic and Advance, as required to obtain DP Certificate. The same
set-up in
Trondheim
,
Norway
and includes full SMS-simulator functionality. The DP-simulator
set-up integrates various Position Reference Systems.
Crane.
NTC-M and SMS established a crane simulator , with the aim of
providing basic simulator-based training for offshore and ship crane
operators.
LNG Cargo-handling simulator,
is operational in
Trondheim
and in
Manila
. Operational procedure on both spherical and membrane tank is being
used. Through combining the ship simulator calls on LNG terminals
world wide and cargo handling incidents on the LNG simulator, we
believe that we can produce training scenarios that will give
excellent training value.
SMS
Bridge
simulator. Given
sufficient interest and positive feedback from the users, NTC-M and
SMS cooperate installing a second full mission SMS bridge simulator.
The
NTC-M Shiphandling Simulator Course complies with performance
standards set forth in section A1/12 of STCW ’78 Convention as
amended in 1995.
